Photoshoot Ready Tips

photoshoot tips

Unless you are Gigi Hadid, photoshoots are not something you get ready for on a daily basis. However, giving advice on how to get ready for one is for me so let me help you out girl! Here are my top 5 tips on how to get photoshoot ready:

I’ve got 5 key tips to make sure you feel confident for your photoshoot.

  1. Iron your clothes: Nothing ruins the perfect outfit like a big crease going across your stomach on your new trendy silk shirt. Some photographers won’t even offer to retouch clothing. Or the photographer will charge extra so save yourself some cash mon-ay and  iron your clothes beforehand. Also bring your clothes on hangers to your photoshoot so they don’t wrinkle in process of transportation. Your photographer will forever thank you for this one!
  2. Nails: I could do a whole post on nails alone, but for the sake of time my biggest piece of advice is to go with neutral tones. If you are posing with your hands around your face and have neon yellow nail color, it will greatly distract from you and that’s not what you want to see even 5 years down the road. Essie is a great nail polish I suggest for my girls and you can get it at almost any makeup store/drug store. One color I would recommend is Essie’s ‘Sand Tropez.’
  3. Eyebrows: Do not do anything drastically different to your brows right before your shoot! Make sure you stick to your tried and true methods so you don’t show up with only one brow come photoshoot day haha! If you wax your brows, make sure to do it 3-4 days prior to your photoshoot so your skin can recover.
  4.  Skin Prep: My girls get the luxury experience of having professional makeup done for their senior sessions. My advice is always to take care of your skin the week leading up to your shoot. Exfoliate with a light scrub 3-4 days prior and moisturize every day! Show up to your makeup appointment with a clean face and pictures of your dream makeup look in hand.
  5. Sleep! Be sure to get plenty of sleep the week prior, but especially the night before because your skin will directly reflect that. *Bonus tip* drink water! Seriously, staying hydrated goes so far in good hair, skin and nails.
