Skincare Prep

Everyone wants to show up to a photoshoot looking and feeling their best. Therefore, I’m sharing some of my most exclusive tips (that I usually only share with my clients) of how to prep your skin before you even show up to your session.

Check out the video:

Breakdown of products:

1. Pictures from a magazine or online: This ensures you and the makeup/hair artist are on the same page with your desired look.

2. Cleansing: I recommend exfoliating your skin twice the week before your photoshoot to remove dead skin so the foundation can apply evenly. The rest of the week use a gentle cleanser to still get a deep clean without causing irritation and damage. Here are two products I’ve been currently loving that won’t be harsh and dry out your skin:

Purity from Philosophy: You can find it at ULTA

5. Exfoliate your lips: Your lips need a good exfoliation just like the rest of your skin to get rid of dead skin and get ready for that photoshoot pout!

Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub: You can find this at any drug or beauty store.

6. NO WAXING! Often times waxing is super harsh and irritating on the skin, sometimes even leaving scars or scabs. Play it safe and stick to shaving and plucking the week before your photoshoot.

7. Wear a button down shirt or wide neck top: This makes sure you don’t ruin your perfect hair and makeup when you change into the outfit your are photographing in.

8. No fake & bake! Not only do tanning beds dry out the skin, but often can cause redness and uneven skin tone….opt for a professional spray tan or a instant self tanner:

St. Moriz Instant Self Tanner: Find it at ULTA

9. Hair All Natur-al: Come to your hair & makeup appointment with one day old hair and clean, so no extra product or styling in it.

10. GET LOTS OF BEAUTY REST! This is the surest way to have your skin looking and feeling amazing. Pamper yourself with an eye/beauty mask to reduce redness and puffiness under the eyes.

You can find these on AMAZON or any beauty store.
